Ohohdon Reports - 8 Easy Relaxation Techniques Recommended Daily for Achieving Stress Reduction

I'll continue to share great articles with my readers. I found this to be useful information.

Stress is the curse of living in modern times. Everyone suffers from stress. And the stress we suffer takes a heavy toll on our bodies, emotions and minds.

Feeling stressed out, worn out by fatigue or just simply having a miserable day, the best thing to do is relax.

Watching television may be a form of relaxation for some, but is not a recommended method by experts. When we watch TV we are bombarded with commercials, ads, sounds and images. So how do we achieve relaxation? If there are thousands of ways we can get stressed, one of them is not meeting deadlines, there are also many ways we can relax.

In recent studies, experts have determined that heart disease is linked to anger and irritability is linked to mental stress. Too much stress brings about ischemia that can lead to or cause a heart attack. Relaxation takes on added importance in light of this matter. Managing your anger and attitude is significant to heart health, and relaxation can help you manage stress.

Breathing is one of the easiest methods to relax. Breathing influences alamost all aspects of us, it affects our mind, our moods and our body. Simply focus on your breathing, after some time you can feel its effects right away.

There are several breathing techniques that can help you reduce stress.

Another easy way to achieve relaxation is exercise. If you feel irritated a simple half-hour of exercise will often settle things down. Although exercise is a great way to lose weight, it does not show you how to manage stress appropriately. Exercise should also be used in conjunction with other exercise method.

One method of relaxation that I really enjoy is getting a massage. To gain full relaxation, you need to totally surrender to the handling and touch of a professional therapist.

There are several types of massages that also give different levels of relaxation.

Another method of relaxation is Biofeedback. The usual biofeedback-training program includes a 10-hour sessions that is often spaced one week apart.

Hypnosis is one controversial relaxation technique. It is a good alternative for people who think that they have no idea what it feels like to be relaxed. It is also a good alternative for people with stress related health problems.

Drugs are extreme alternatives to relaxation. They are sometimes not safe and are not effective like the other relaxation methods. This method is only used by trained medical professionals on their patients.

These relaxation techniques are just some of the ways you can achieve relaxation. Another reason why we need to relax, aside from lowering blood pressure in people and decreasing the chances of a stroke or a heart attack, is because stress produces hormones that suppress the immune system, relaxation gives the immune system time to recover and in doing so function more efficiently.

Relaxation lowers the activities within the brains' limbic system; this is the emotional center of our brain.

Furthermore, the brain has a periodic need for a more pronounced activity on the right-hemisphere. Relaxation is one way of achieving this.

Another study on another method of relaxation, acupuncture, seems to reduce high blood pressure by initiating several body functions for the brain to release chemical compounds known as endorphins. Endorphin helps to relax muscles, ease panic, decrease pain, and reduce anxiety.

Yoga is also another method for relaxation and may also have similar effects like acupuncture. In another study, participants were subjected to several minutes of mental stress. Then they were subjected to various relaxation techniques, such as listening to nature sounds or classical music. Only those who did Yoga significantly reduced the time it took for their blood pressures to go back to normal. Yoga is a form of progressive relaxation.

One way of relaxation is meditation. Recent studies have also shown that this method might reduce artery blockage, which is a major cause for heart attack and stroke. People practice meditation by focusing on soothing sounds while meditating. Many people use the sound of trickling water as a soothing focal point. This helps to achieve total relaxation.

The researchers found that practitioners of meditation significantly reduced the thickness of their arterial wall compared with those who didn't practice meditation.

Relaxation can really be of good use once a relaxation technique is regularly built into your lifestyle. Choose a technique that you believe you can do regularly.

Ohohdon Reports - 3 Powerful Stress Busting Tips

I'll continue to share great articles with my readers. I found this to be useful information.

Often times stress will manifest when we carry over yesterday’s concerns into our present day concerns. An accumulation will almost always end up in a high stress level. Therefore, we must be able to “dump” all of our concerns from the previous day or days and concentrate wholly on our today.

So here are 3 stress busting tips

- Stress Busting Tip #1

Resolve right now to release every thought from yesterday and be only mindful of the now…. this thought only...this breath...this moment. Take in three very deep breaths and slowly release each one.

At the same time feel each and every concern, each and every problem, and each and every unresolved moment, begin to dissolve. You can deal with them at a later time. For now, you are only to be in this very moment.

Now go to your inner quiet place. Go deep inside to a place where you feel that you are at peace and then just relax and breathe in deeply and enjoy the feeling of being at one and at peace within yourself.

Use this special time and place to be calm. Free your mind and body of all worry, all regret, all disappointment, all anger and grief.

- Stress Busting Tip #2

Next, think of one particular act, such as rocking your baby, taking a quick stroll, raking the leaves, and do that one simple thing. All the while, your mind is quiet and calm and you are in your own special place within.

Practice this act of quiet and calm each day and you will see that you will accomplish so much more. At the first sign of being stressed, go back to this mindful, quiet place and start all over again until you have reached your inner place of calm.

- Stress Busting Tip #3

The very best thing that you can do for yourself is to eat, drink and rest – to your health!

Stress is easily brought on by not eating and drinking properly. When you don’t get the number of hours of sleep that you need each night, you are only setting yourself up for additional stress.

Limit the amount of salt, sugar, caffeine and alcohol in your diet. Drink plenty of clean, pure water each day and do at least moderate exercise each day. This will breathe new life into your skin, hair and will nourish all of your vital organs.

Take time to breathe properly! Take deep belly breathes to send pure oxygen to all of your body. Laugh and then laugh some more. It is food for the soul! Spend time doing the things that please you most. Engage in healthy and fulfilling relationships and work on problems that would erode the closeness that you have with someone special.

When we are content and living a balanced life everyday stresses seem to pale in comparison. We are better equipped to deal with the unexpected.

You can take control today! Isolate only one particular stress point in your life and then work on it until you regain control. At the very least, have some new hope!

Posting Photos on Blogger from Picasa

As a test of the feature in Google's Picassa photo storage and editing system, I have posted a photo of my daughter and her boyfriend, Daniel.

I hope to see how Bogger accepts the transfer of the photo from my computer's photo album. I haven't found, yet, that Picassa will allow me to adjust the pixel size and the dimentions of the of the photo. That bothers me a little, because I don't want my photo's to download slowly for the readers of my blog.

I like to have a little control over the size of the picture. If Blogger and Picassa don't somehow optimize the picture size automatically, I will have to use my Photoshop Elements program to do that.

Please leave a comment to let me know how long this post took to load completely compared to other similar posts with photos.

Blogger Setup Instructions

This is the blog I put together so I could write down the step by step instructions for Uncle Stan to follow to get his blog started.

For a free and simple to use blogging platform, I would recommend Blogger is owned by Google and is one of the most popular.

Go to and begin the 3 easy steps.

1. Create an account
2. Name your blog
3. Choose a template

In the upper right corner of the page, you will need to put in a username (email address) and password then press "sign in".
Put in your Display Name - this is the name that people who read your blog will see as the author of the blog. Put a check in the Terms of Service box (read them if you like).

Click on "Create your Blog Now"
Give it a title and an address. The title can be just about anything. I like to come up with a catchy title related to my theme.
The address has to be unique. If you pick an address that someone else is already using, it will kick back and ask you to try again.
If you have selected a previously unused address, when you press continue, you'll be taken to the next step.

Choose a template. This will be the "look" of your blog. Personally, I like a clean look - dark, bold lettering on a white background. I think it's a lot easier to read. When you browse through the templates they offer, you can press "preview template" to get a larger sample of the design. Once you decide which you want, click in the little button next to the name of the template you want and press "continue".

Now your blog has been created and you can start posting.
The whiteboard where you write your post has two tabs. Be sure to use the "compose" tab to type your post - that is, unless you are experienced in HTML programming.

When you write up a post, blogger will save automatically every little bit. Your post will not be visible to anyone but you, though, until you press the "Publish" button.

That's enough to get you started. Once you get going, let me know. I'll be happy to help you add pictures, or other formatting options. With just a little HTML programming knowledge the possibilities are limitless. But if all you want is an online journal, so to speak, you already know everything you need.
